Hey blog friends! Love is still very much in the air as we wind down the Valentine month, and I'm celebrating my family with this layout, created for the LOVE challenge at Inspiration Emporium!
My awesome mom and dad will be celebrating their 56th anniversary this year!
The base of this layout is from Tim Holtz's (sadly discontinued) Shabby Chic Paper Stash. (Fear not, Tim has a bunch of new papers that are equally fabulous-- click here to see 'em!).
I scanned the original photo and gave it the RadLab treatment to correct some tones and make the contrast pop, then printed it on matte paper.
Mom and Dad's names were cut from black paper using the Sizzix Alterations Chip Block strip die. The little hearts were cut from white paper (Movers and Shapers Mini Hearts, baby!), that I'd embossed with the Damask Texture Fades folder. A little Broken China and Black Soot Distress Ink really brings out the embossing!
Little gears for my dad, who rebuilds antique engines.
This Inspiration Emporium challenge is open through March 3rd, so you still have plenty of time to join in. We can't wait to see how you express your LOVE!
xoxo,
Linda
