Inspired by...LOVE!

Hey blog friends! Love is still very much in the air as we wind down the Valentine month, and I'm celebrating my family with this layout, created for the LOVE challenge at Inspiration Emporium

My awesome mom and dad will be celebrating their 56th anniversary this year!

The base of this layout is from Tim Holtz's (sadly discontinued) Shabby Chic Paper Stash. (Fear not, Tim has a bunch of new papers that are equally fabulous-- click here to see 'em!).

I scanned the original photo and gave it the RadLab treatment to correct some tones and make the contrast pop, then printed it on matte paper.

Mom and Dad's names were cut from black paper using the Sizzix Alterations Chip Block strip die. The little hearts were cut from white paper (Movers and Shapers Mini Hearts, baby!), that I'd embossed with the Damask Texture Fades folder. A little Broken China and Black Soot Distress Ink really brings out the embossing!

Little gears for my dad, who rebuilds antique engines.

This Inspiration Emporium challenge is open through March 3rd, so you still have plenty of time to join in.  We can't wait to see how you express your LOVE!

xoxo,
Linda

Bring on the Love! Tim's 12 Tags of 13, February Edition

Holy rockets, you guys, it's nearly March...

...so I thought I ought'a post my version of Tim Holtz's February tag.

Sure, Valentines Day 2013 is but a distant memory, but love just keeps on happening. And that, my friends, is a good thing indeed.

I {heart} you!
Linda

A Vine for You!

Pin It Well, hello there! I've been on a little blogging break for the past few weeks, planning some new craft-y/photo-y/techno-y things, but it's high time I stuck my head out of the laboratory and announced the fact that I am, actually, still here!

My newest creative crush is the Vine app, which is basically a video version of Instagram. I've been meaning to make the leap into video for a long time, but honestly, it kind of scares me. Vine's six-second limitation makes the whole idea a lot less daunting. It's super easy to use, and already, people who are far more creative than I am are doing some mind-blowing things with it.

While not at all mind-blowing, I do want to share my own first-ever Vine with my blog friends. You had to know I'd be using Tim Holtz products for this... ;-)

Have you grabbed onto Vine yet? (Sorry, that was such an awful pun... but I had to go there.) If so, please leave your User Name in the comments so I can follow your feed. If not, iPhone users can download the app for free. Android users, I hear your version is coming soon, so hang in there.

Have a beautifully animated day!

xo,
Linda
